What is a computer wire stripping machine and what is its principle?

Time:2025-08-15Viewed:()

A computerized wire stripping machine is an automated device controlled by a microcomputer, designed to cut and strip the insulation from electrical wires. By entering the required length, stripping dimensions, and processing mode into the program, the machine can automatically complete wire cutting and stripping operations. Some models can also perform complex processes such as multistage stripping, partial stripping, and segmented cutting. Compared to traditional manual stripping methods, it offers higher efficiency and more stable precision, making it wellsuited for mass production.

Working Principle of a Computerized Wire Stripping Machine

The core system consists of wire feeding mechanism + blade cutting + program control:

  1. Wire Feeding – Stepper motors or servo motors drive feed rollers to deliver the wire into the processing area.

  2. Cutting – Blades cut through the insulation to the preset depth, with the option of multiple cuts at different positions if needed.

  3. Stripping – After cutting, the rollers reverse to pull the cut insulation away from the conductor.

  4. Program Control – All actions are executed by a microcontroller or PLC according to preset parameters, ensuring consistent length and depth.

Functions and Features

High Efficiency – Capable of continuous processing of large quantities of wires, ideal for assembly line operations.

Stable Precision – Consistent processing dimensions, reducing human error.

Multifunctionality – Supports full stripping, partial stripping, multistage stripping, and fixedlength cutting.

Easy Operation – Parameters can be entered via buttons or touchscreen; quick wire changeover.

Strong Adaptability – Can process various wire specifications; some models can handle special cable types.

Types of Wires That Can Be Stripped

  • Singlecore wires (insulated with PVC, PE, XLPE, etc.)

  • Multistranded flexible wires

  • Flat ribbon cables (with dedicated fixtures)

  • Tinned or bare copper conductor wires

  • Shielded cables (outer jacket stripping on some models)

  • Special smalldiameter electronic wires
